CAPTAIN FANPLASTICS//

The Captain Fanplastics project is an ongoing social design project by Soapbox in Cape Town that uses social design to address problems around plastic waste in low-income areas in Cape Town amongst the youth. For this project we helped prototype cardboard ‘underwater’ goggles that the children attending workshops could make to help the Soapbox team tell their Captain Fanplastic story. We developed a step-by-step instruction manual for the Soapbox team to make the goggles.

The projectbalso involved us prototyping shopping bags made from waste that is difficult to recycle, like chip packets, textile waste and LDPE shopping bags.
